About Us
"Our city includes 24 square miles with well-preserved geological features, over 3,000 acres of municipally owned park space and 74 different recreational areas." - Meriden Municipal Website
We hope this information will help you better enjoy nature in Meriden and assist your efforts to protect the environment.
We are a dedicated group of volunteers working to update Meriden's natural resources inventory (NRI), encourage a healthy environment, and share knowledge with the community.
An NRI summarizes scientific descriptions of important, naturally occurring resources. It is a document that includes all the natural resources (land, soil, water, plants, animals, etc.) in a given area. The NRI supports decisions and actions to protect, restore, and enhance the natural environment as well as promote greater community appreciation and enjoyment of nature.
